The Winter session of Wonderful Wednesdays will begin January 9 with a catered meal from Middle of the Island Restaurant at 5:30 pm in the Activity Building Gym and Bible study at 6:30 pm. Each week’s menu will be placed in Sunday’s bulletin the week prior. There is a suggested donation of $7.00 for each meal. You must RSVP for the meal by filling out the Connect Card on Sunday or by calling the church office by noon on Monday. Participants are also asked to convey if you have a need for childcare so that arrangements can be made. The classes offered for the Winter Session are:
A study series led by Rev. Beth Hood will be in culmination with the kickoff of our 2019-2020 stewardship initiative. This study of the book, Defying Gravity by Tm Berlin will explore what is required to sustain a vibrant life, determine what it is that we need versus versus what we want and what we can do to avoid being pulled into the orbit of materialism. This study will meet in Room 306 of the Activity Building.
FEAR!! Do you ever worry about impending hurricanes, test results from your physician or what is coming in the mail from the IRS? This study is based on an Adam Hamilton video, which raises a variety of questions dealing with fear. Topics include understanding and countering fear crime, race, politics, failure, loneliness, missing out, finances, aging and dying. This 5 week study will meet upstairs in Room 208 of the Sanctuary Building and will be led by Dr. George Pidot.
Generous Hearts: Learning from the Saints
Rev. Adam Baker’s study will include Holy Communion, prayer, and conversation about what Scripture and the lives of four historic saints of the church have to teach us about living lives of Christlike generosity. This study is part of the requirements for Adam Baker’s ordination in the United Methodist Church. This study will meet upstairs in Room 210 of the Sanctuary Building.
