Rev. Adam Baker

Adam has served as the Associate Pastor at Wesley Memorial since 2014, where he loves preaching, teaching, and sharing the love of Christ with others. His primary pastoral focus is upon pastoral counseling, care, and visitation, ministries within which he is grateful to work alongside Wesley Memorial’s very active Stephen Ministry and home visitation teams. Should you, your family, or someone you know have need of pastoral care, prayer, or a listening ear, Adam would love to connect with you.

Prior to becoming a United Methodist pastor, Adam lived in a variety of different countries, enjoyed working as a barista and as a creative co-director of a successful graphic design company, served as a therapist for almost ten years in Ohio with at-risk children, adolescents, and families, and earned a couple of graduate degrees in clinical pastoral counseling and theological studies. He loves building friendships, drawing, listening to music, reading about monks, and joining Jenn, his wife, in parenting their “Baker tribe” of four children: Eleanor, Adelaide, Isla, and Duncan.

I had searched for ten years for a congregation & community that was young and old, that preached love, that was fueled by the Holy Spirit, that had balance between tradition and applied interpretation to the problems of today, asking 'How can we make it better?' As a person who has loosely attended church my whole life, I never felt home until Wesley.

From the first time I stepped foot in Wesley Memorial, I felt like I had come home... we not only have good preachers but good shepherds in every sense of the word.

I truly believe God brought me here. From the first time I drove by Wesley, I knew it would be my church... the place for me.I continue to be drawn to the giving, loving, caring people who attend Wesley. They have taught me a lot, and I pray I give back as much as they have given me.
