Rev. Mary Frances McClure

Biography

Since 2013, Mary Frances has served as both Pastor to Youth and College Students at Wesley Memorial and Director for the WOW: Wesley of Wilmington campus ministry at UNCW. Mary Frances nurtures the spiritual and emotional growth of people between the ages of 12 and 25, planning and leading mission trips, weekly gatherings, and Bible studies, and loves learning about Jesus and more through the eyes of youth and college students.
Before serving at Wesley Memorial, Mary Frances pastored churches in Red Springs and Eastover, North Carolina, earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at UNC and Duke Divinity School, and taught elementary school in Granville and Durham Counties.

Mary Frances is married to Mark Merryman, and between them they have four daughters: Caroline, Claire, Kenna, and Hanna. When she’s not ministering to youth and college students, Mary Frances also enjoys cooking, baking (she’s working to master true Italian focaccia bread), dogs, bunnies, and spending time at the ocean.

I had searched for ten years for a congregation & community that was young and old, that preached love, that was fueled by the Holy Spirit, that had balance between tradition and applied interpretation to the problems of today, asking 'How can we make it better?' As a person who has loosely attended church my whole life, I never felt home until Wesley.

Kathryn Sausman

From the first time I stepped foot in Wesley Memorial, I felt like I had come home... we not only have good preachers but good shepherds in every sense of the word.

I truly believe God brought me here. From the first time I drove by Wesley, I knew it would be my church... the place for me.I continue to be drawn to the giving, loving, caring people who attend Wesley. They have taught me a lot, and I pray I give back as much as they have given me.
