
Rev. Duane Partin
Biography
A native of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Duane is an Elder in the North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Duane has served in a variety of ministry settings throughout the state, including Pittsboro, Wilmington, Nags Head, Angier, and Mount Gilead. He received a B.A. in Communications (with English and Theater minors) from Mars Hill College (now Mars Hill University) and an M.Div. from Duke Divinity School. He loves preaching, leading worship, teaching Bible studies, and reminding people that following Jesus makes us a joyful and strange people. One of the joys of his ministry is getting to know people’s stories and inviting them to narrate their lives by God’s Story.
Duane has been married to Heidi since 1992. They have three adult children: their son Avery, who lives with them; and their daughters Ivy-Grace and Emma-Rose, who both live in Asheville. He enjoys reading, hiking, singing, and playing acoustic guitar. He has written and recorded original songs (www.soundcloud.com/duane-r-partin). He is also a coffee connoisseur and a bow tie enthusiast.
