Trae Setzer

Trae has served as the Contemporary Worship Director at Wesley Memorial since early 2018. With a deep appreciation of the work of the Holy Spirit, Trae was called into ministry in 2012, finished a degree in Biblical Studies through Liberty University in 2014, and loves inviting others into worshipping in the presence of God. He is excited about what God has done and is doing at Wesley Memorial, and counts himself blessed to be a part of it.

A long-time Wilmingtonian, Trae, his wife, Beverly, their daughter, India, and their son, Shade, enjoy spending time with a large, local extended family, hanging out and enjoying all that the Port City has to offer.

Because I’ve experienced God’s love and generosity at Wesley Memorial, I’m joyful about the opportunity to share that same love and generosity, not only within these walls, but also within the community of Wilmington and beyond.

After moving to Wilmington, we wanted a church that had a good worship service, friendly members, and a strong youth program for both of our children… after visiting Wesley, our kids said, ‘This is it. This is the church for us. We don’t need to go anywhere else." We knew it was going to be our new church home.

We’ve spent more than twenty years of marriage searching for the right church home – we’ve found it at Wesley Memorial. The people are genuinely warm, and they will meet you wherever you are on your faith journey.
