Our Story

Our Story

For more than 100 years, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church has prayerfully sought to know Christ and make him known in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Located at the busy intersection of College Road and Oleander Drive, Wesley Memorial is pivotally located in the heart of this thriving city on the sea. Whether you’re visiting while on vacation, newly moved to the area, or a long-time New Hanover County resident, we’d love to meet you and welcome you to Wesley.

We believe that the mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We are people who love Scripture, feel called to Christian service, and who strongly support one another in following Jesus throughout our lives. We’ve been incredibly loved by God, and we’d like to help you know that you are too.

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
~ Matthew 28:16-20

Sunday Services

We gather each Sunday as a United Methodist Church in Wilmington, NC to worship God and grow in our faith together. Sunday worship is a time for us to come together as a community to offer praise and thanksgiving to God, to hear and reflect on God’s word, and to support and encourage one another in our spiritual journeys. It is also a time for us to participate in the sacraments of baptism and communion, which are central to Christian belief and practice. Through Sunday worship, we are reminded of the love, grace, and presence of God in our lives and are equipped to serve and witness to God’s love in the world.

Service times:
9:00 a.m. - OasisWorship (Gym)
